Garnacha (aka Grenache) has various mutations that give use white, grey, and black versions of this grape. Its typically light in color with red fruit, herbs and peppery spice which is why its commonly blended. Made famous by the Chateaunuef-du-Pape region in France its origin is actually Spanish and now globally in vogue - think Pinot Noir 2.0
