WINEMAKING NOTES
The 2016 - SKYHARP CELLARS- Grand Vin Reserve is about balance and complexity from Napa Valley. This red blend features a base of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in St. Helena that elicit earthy cedar notes and black currant. The Merlot softens the wine with accents of cocoa and plums.
VINTAGE NOTES
The near-perfect 2016 growing season started early, saw ideal weather conditions throughout the year thanks to a relatively mild summer and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season. The goal of this wine was to release a vintage that would exceed that of the wines from Bordeaux, with the key earthy tones from the Napa Valley. The low valley elevation provides good sun exposure all season long. This wine can hold for well over 15 years or be consumed now.
