Wine gut-check…what’s the difference between the regular Addax Chardonnay and the Addax single vineyard Chardonnay’s?
If you said $20 you might be right but a lot of times the secret is knowing WHAT it’s made out of! Wines like this are the hidden gem. In the hands of skilled practitioners like Russell Bevon and Josh Peeples, they run blending trials to come up with a final wine that shows a shit-ton of personality and flavor. This ’19 Chard is comprised of Ritchie, Purrington-Rued, Simpatico, and Smith (2 Russian River, 1 Bennett Valley, and 1 Sonoma Mountain) which drive home the expression, “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Unabashedly Californian Chardonnay that has oak, a creamy-texutre, ripe fruit and yet still balanced. The wine is brazen and bold!
