This isn’t your typical Zinfandel!!
Jacob’s Zin reminds me of old school Amador County Zin’s or even the rustic Primativo styles from Puglia Italy that are cerebral and divulge something of the past. Even though the fruit is very restrained, it has black cherry, boysenberry, cola nut and white pepper all coming together seamlessly on the palate. In addition, the tannin structure is soft and noticeably different than usual Zins like Turley or Ridge.
A good alternative to choosing a book to read for the evening.
